Introduction to AI Editing

AI Editing lets you fine-tune your storybook after it’s been generated — whether you want to adjust a color, fix a small detail, or refresh an entire scene. Think of it as your creative touch-up tool.

1. How AI Editing Works

Every page in your storybook is built from three main elements:

  1. Story Text – What’s written on the left-hand page (this guides the scene).

  2. Photo – One of your original uploaded photos that defines how your family looks.

  3. Style Guide Image – A previously generated image that keeps tone, color, and artistic style consistent.

When you make an edit, the AI looks at these three elements to understand who’s in the scene, what’s happening, and how it should feel.

2. Editing Tools Overview

Edit

Make small, focused adjustments.

  • Perfect for color or accessory changes.

  • Example: “Make Dad’s jacket blue instead of green.”

  • Add “keep everything else the same” for best results.

Regenerate

Redraws the entire page from your story text.

  • Best for fixing composition, missing objects, or major mismatches.

  • Example: “Regenerate this page using my photo of Ella, match the tone of the selected style guide image, keep everything else the same.”

Rewrite

Adjusts or rewrites the story text itself.

  • Helpful if the picture doesn’t match the words.

  • Example: “Ella pressed her face to the glass to watch dolphins leap above the water.”

3. Using the Photo and Style Guide Image

To keep your story consistent, the AI references both of these when you edit or regenerate:

  • Photo: Maintains your family’s faces, hairstyles, and features.

  • Style Guide Image: Ensures the tone, lighting, and color match your book’s existing pages.

Example:
If your photo shows Ella smiling in her red jacket, and your style guide image has soft watercolor tones, the new page will keep both — Ella’s likeness and the same gentle color mood.

4. Tips for Best Results

✅ Make one edit at a time — smaller requests are clearer to the AI.
✅ Always describe what you want changed and what should stay the same.
✅ Use simple, visual language (“make the water brighter,” “remove the stroller”).
✅ Reselect your Photo and Style Guide Image when consistency drifts.

5. Common Uses for AI Editing

  • Adjusting colors or lighting.

  • Fixing small details (hats, glasses, outfits).

  • Removing or adding an object.

  • Redrawing a page that looks off.

  • Rewriting story text for clarity or tone.

FAQ

Do edits change my entire book?
No. Edits apply only to the page you’re working on.

Will the AI remember my edits on later pages?
Not automatically, but consistency is easy to maintain by using the same Photo and Style Guide Image each time.

Can I undo an edit?
Yes — you can always regenerate again or return to a previous version.
