Some Do's and Don'ts for your prompts

Updated over 2 weeks ago

When you upload your photos and story, the AI turns them into illustrations. Clear, balanced prompts help the AI create the story you imagine.

Do’s & Don’ts (with Examples)

1. Be Descriptive

  • Do: “Liam, age 7, in a red hoodie, pointing at a dolphin in the big aquarium tank.”

  • Don’t Do: “A boy at the aquarium.”

2. Introduce Characters Clearly

  • Do: “Sophie, age 4, curly blond hair, wearing a purple dress with white polka dots.”

  • Don’t Do: “A little girl.”

3. Set the Stage

  • Do: “Family walking through a glowing jellyfish tunnel with blue lights overhead.”

  • Don’t Do: “Family at the aquarium.”

4. Balance Details

  • Do: Page 1: “Dad wearing a green jacket and baseball cap.”
Later: “Dad smiles while watching the penguins.”

  • Don’t Do: Repeat “Dad in green jacket and baseball cap” on every page — AI may exaggerate it.

5. Guide Style and Mood

  • Do: “Soft watercolor storybook style, warm and cheerful.”

  • Don’t Do: “Make it nicer.”

6. Keep Edits Simple

  • Do: “Make the dolphin bigger, keep everything else the same.”

  • Don’t Do: “Make the dolphin bigger, add more fish, fix Mom’s glasses, and brighten the water.” (too much at once)

Quick Checklist for Great Prompts

  • Do: Name, age, and clothing for each family member once.

  • Do: Mention one or two quirks or actions (clapping, pointing, holding a toy).

  • Do: Describe the location with a little color (tunnel, beach, zoo).

  • Do: Add style guidance if you want a consistent look (storybook, cartoon, watercolor).

  • Don’t Do: Overload with every detail on every page.

  • Don’t Do: Use vague or contradictory words.
